GRANITEVILLE – An 87,000-square-foot self-storage facility is being built on Bettis Academy Road between the new Leavelle McCampbell Middle School and AllStar Tents & Events.

Breezy Hill Self Storage, which will have convenient access to I-20 at Exit 11, is scheduled to open in mid-August. It will have more than 550 units for rent, and more than half of them will be climate-controlled, according to a press release.

There also will be 21 outdoor parking spaces for cars, boats, RVs and other vehicles.

Other features will include digital video monitoring, computerized security, lighted units and background music.

Personal client access codes and automatic gates will with electronic key pads will give customers access 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“Breezy Hill Self Storage is the largest and by far the most advanced facility of its kind in the area,” said Brad Brodie, president of Storage Development, Inc., which is the general contractor for the project. “Every aspect of the design pays particular attention to the comfort, convenience and safety of customers. The facility has wide thoroughfares so that trucks and large trailers easy entry and maneuverability once inside.”

Chad Meldrum of WTCII Enterprises, LLC, which will own and operate Breezy Hill, discussed other plans for the facility, which will include an aggressive advertising and promotional campaign.

“We are ramping up to make it the premier place for self storage in the CSRA,” Meldrum said. “We will deliver tremendous value to build the client base and establish a high level of customer satisfaction. Our target customers include individuals who have short- and long-term storage needs, businesses that need off-site archival storage or more room for inventory, and even professional entities such pharmaceutical companies and their reps who need a local climate-controlled environment for product.”

Breezy Hill will accept deliveries that can be directed to a customer’s unit.
